Official Exams
These exams are provided by outside examination agencies and marked externally to assure an objective overview of the level of attainment.
The exams we take are set and corrected by Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). These exams are taken on the school premises which have been inspected, recognised and awarded the title of examination centre.
The official exams taken at each stage are the following:
Cambridge IGCSE – International General Certificate of Secondary Education
The Cambridge IGCSE exams take place at the end of Year 11 (16 years old) in all subjects studied in Key Stage 4 (Year 10 y Year 11).
AS/A-Level Exams – General Certificate of Education (GCE)
The AS/A-Level exams are taken in Year 12 and Year 13.
In order to finish the Secondary Education studies and obtain the Degree in Secondary Education issued by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science, students must pass at least five IGCSE with grade C or above.
Our students prepare and take nine IGCSE subjects, including Maths, English, and Science.
The AS/A-Level exams taken at BSV are set and marked by a variety of examining bodies such as Cambridge International Examinations, EDEXCEL or AQA (Assessment and Qualifications Alliance).
