Year 10 ‘Hour of Code’ Universidad Politécnica de Valencia

Just like we do with our younger students we also promote a programming language amongst our older pupils. In this case the Year 10’s had the chance to participate in a programming workshop at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Informática of the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia. They participated in The Hour of Code, a Scratch workshop where they develop different computing and programming skills without having to know much about coding. They also took part in the initiative known as “la entrada sostenible” where students have to bring old electronic devices in order to recycle them. We also had the chance to share some time with one of our former students, Lucía Pons, current chairwoman of the ACM-W (Association for Computing Machinery – Council on Women in Computing) of the Universidad Politécnica, an organisation which advocates for the full engagement of women in all aspects of the computing field and that also organises programming workshops for the students.
