Early Years in BSV
Children access this first stage known as Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) at the age of two in Pre-Nursery.
This is a very important stage for the children in the preparation of their future learning introducing them at an early age to a new language such as English.
At this stage a students academic life should be happy, active, exciting, fun and safe. It should also support their progress and learning needs.
At BSV children will begin to learn a new language whilst playing games, participating in activities and by living different experiences that they will be able to share with their classmates and teachers.
Children learn new skills, acquire new knowledge and demonstrate their understanding through seven main and specific areas of learning.
- Communication and language
- Physical development
- Personal, social and emotional development
- Understanding the world
- Expressive arts and design
A friendly, trusting and happy atmosphere
We place special emphasis on encouraging our children to develop their abilities in a friendly, trusting and happy environment.
Our youngest students are integrated into school life and the particular characteristics of our teaching methods quickly and easily through specially decorated classrooms, available resources and the professionalism and care of our teaching staff.
The pedagogical supervision in Foundation is done by the coordinator who establishes, according to the school’s management, the guidelines to follow in order to ensure that the transition from one year to the next is as fluid as possible and fulfills the objectives set for these first years.
The teachers of each year group are responsible for the tutoring of their students. In this stage, teachers work alongside support teachers and assistants to ensure the children receive the attention they require.
Independent playground and dining room
Children in this stage have their own playground and separate dining room.
The playground is equipped with swings and other games suitable for their age and the dining room has food menus designed specially for them.
Children are supervised and under the constant care of their teachers at all times.
